Welcome to Bricolage

Welcome to Bricolage: a three day series of events across London to celebrate Improvisation and Experimental Performance.
Curated by The Bricoleurs (Alex Crowe, Jenny Hill, Camilla Malling and Amaara Raheem) Bricolage comprises an eclectic performance schedule of accomplished artists and emerging artists performing side by side.
Bricolage is predominantly about Improvisation in Performance; however, some more ‘structured’ or ‘set’ experimental performances complement pieces of pure improvisation. Improvisation has been called “the most radical use of the performance situation” - the fullest exploitation of its essential liveness. It is the art of navigating the unknown, and from the inevitable risks involved come its excitement and freshness.

Each event includes a short series of solo performances by the Bricoleurs plus performances by guest artists. A broad spectrum, of genres and styles are represented including: Dance, Music, Live Art, Butoh, Film and Theatre.

On the Sunday there will be a jam from 7-9pm – an open collective improvisation session in which anyone can participate physically or with sound/music, and for which everyone is invited to bring an item of food to share. Each event costs £7 but there will be discounted tickets available for people who want to attend all three nights. Please check with the appropriate Box Office on the night of the performance. (Discounted tickets are not available in advance).
